June is the perfect month to choose you! It’s the mid-year month I use to celebrate myself in every way. It is the time I remind myself to take care of myself first physically, mentally, socially and spiritually.

Because June is the official start of summer, use it to tone up your body so you can feel confident in your swimsuit the entire season. There are a few simple things you can do to tighten and tone the body, spending just a few minutes each day.

- Start each day with a Detox Drink / Flat Tummy Water. Prepare before bed and it will be ready to drink the next day. It’s really simple to do. Just combine water, fresh grated ginger, a sliced cucumber, lemon slices, and some fresh mint leaves in a pitcher. Refrigerate overnight and enjoy the next morning.
- Say yes to yoga. Continue the process of improving yourself physically by adding yoga to your fitness routine. One of my favorite yoga sequences is called Surya Namaskar (Sun Salutation) where you put together 12 poses in a very smooth flow. Do this sequence 4 – 12 times and you will realize benefits right away.
- Walk a little. Try to spend at least 15 minutes walking for a better you. One great resource for this is yourdailywalk.com. It has hundreds of walking exercise videos in intervals of 1 – 5 miles. They are fun interactive routines that you will want to commit to doing a few times per week.

Mentally – June is the time of year to reflect back on the resolutions I set at the beginning of the year. Am I on track? Do I feel good about what I have done? Do I need to tweak anything to meet my goal as the year progresses? Those are a few questions I try to answer to make sure my mind set is where it needs to be. When I think about my mental health, I tap into how I am feeling at the time. Does the way I feel match my life? Am I happy or am I not feeling good about myself, my situation, my progress? Whatever the answer is to these questions, this is the time I assess and recalibrate my thought processes to get to the place I want to be mentally. I tap into myself and make adjustments that are going to be beneficial to helping me feel good. We all know that we need to feel good in order to manifest the life we want to live. Taking time to make sure I am on track mentally is a must during June!

Socially – During June, make it a point to get out and interact with people. I also make it a point to vacation with my family. This trip is the time I disconnect from work and outside influence and focus on the people that mean the most to me. While on vacation, it is important to make intimate personal connections with each person. It’s a mid-year reminder to everyone that family is first.

Spiritually – Being connected to something greater than myself is a belief system I struggle to maintain, so it is important that I try to connect with nature, and connect with others. During June I make an effort to do just that. I reflect on what I believe is my life’s purpose, consciously check up on my values, and evaluate my relationships. I take the time to make sure my outlook on life is positive and that I am at peace with who I am.

The month of June is a great reset for me. Tapping in to who I am, understanding my place in the world and working to be a good person for myself and my family is something I do in my daily routine, but during June I take it to a deeper level and put myself in the position to continue to be the best me the rest of the year.
How do you reset your life? If you have not thought about taking the time to focus on these areas, is it now something you will consider? Let’s talk about it in the comments.
I feel like I have to reset or evaluate often then most people. But I’m okay with that, that’s just me knowing myself. My reset often starts with me listening to my body and observing what feels natural & what feels forced. I also like to create new solutions for the areas that are lacking.
I am loving your reset ideas and plan to incorporate in my own life. Thank you for sharing.
You are very welcome. Thank you for sharing your perspective as well.
Wow, this is so thought provoking and timely for me. I am going to take the time to do exactly as you said so I can make sure the rest of the year is as I want it to be! Thanks for sharing.
