Top 5 must have home workout items
My toxic relationship with fitness and a healthy lifestyle is still live and in effect. With time being hard to find with such a busy schedule, I’ve found that I can get a quick 20 min workout in daily to get me moving and headed in the right direction. You have to start somewhere right? Consistency is always key to everything thing in life. I’m excited to share my top 5 go to items to get the job done!
1- Jump rope . This is the ultimate quick cardio item that you can do quick and at home in a tight space. I love a good jump rope session! Jumping rope can burn 200 to 300 calories in 15 minutes. That may be more than other continuous cardio exercises, like running or bike riding. I’ll start with 50 jumps and repeat a rep of 50 jumps in between each exercise set. This gets my heart rate going!
2- Yoga Mat! This is an at home workout essential! This is the ultimate item to transform your space into a mini gym! You can bring it out and put it away with ease. This allows you to set up for a thorough workout anywhere in your home. From indoor to outdoor the mat gives you gym access.
3- Kettle ball! I love a good kettle ball and I have two with different weight. I use the 10lb and the 15lb! This can be used for a variety of different workouts. Here are a few benefits of a kettle ball
• –All-In-One Total Body Conditioning Tool.
• –Improves Core Strength & Stability.
• –Enhances Body Awareness & Coordination.
• –Improves Balance & Stabilizer Muscles.
• –Increases Range Of Motion (Mobility & Flexibility)
• -Builds Lean Muscle.
4- Dumb bells!!!! I don’t know about y’all but I’m on a mission to achieve Michelle Obama arms one day. I’m far from it but it’s on the vision board. Don’t shy away from starting light and building up. I started with 5lb weights and graduated to 8lbs well on my way to 10lbs!
5- This may not make anyone’s list of home workout essentials but believe me to get you motivated it’s an ESSENTIAL! Workout clothes... (cute if you’re extra like me) let me tell you WHY this is important. That same thrill and adrenaline you develop when getting ready to head to a gym. It’s something about placing my set up in front of a floor length mirror… Apple Watch (any type of fitness tracker) on and I go to work! It motivates me to really give 100% effort! Could you imagine trying to workout in pj’s?… yea, me neither.
A few other key items that I always have on hand are my gloves to protect these hands! Especially with repetitions of weights. Have to keep my hands soft people! I also make sure to have my water bottle on hand. My favorite is my gallon container with time reminders to keep me encouraged and on track.
Let’s get it ladies! Pace yourself and give yourself grace on your journey to the best physical version of yourself. Getting that heart beating and removing those toxins. Be your OWN body goals and love your body throughout the entire process. I love y’all for real!
