DIY Cabinet Revamp

We purchased our house in 2016 knowing cosmetic updates were needed to make the house a home. The beauty of home ownership is that you are in total control the renovation timetable. We didn’t feel rushed to start home improvement projects because we were not beholden to an upcoming lease renewal date or term.

Our kitchen in our home came with stark white counter tops, brown cabinets and a dated white tile back-splash. It was a total eye sore for me that I knew would require updating to be more to my liking.

The kitchen renovation began with changing out the counter tops , updating the back-splash and painting the cabinets. We went with a classic granite counter top paired with smoke grey glass subway tile back-splash.

We then painted our cabinets a crisp white and changed out the hardware!! We went with cabinet pulls that had a chic modern touch which made my vision come to life!

I love how the updates turned out and I am satisfied with the outcome for now. I do plan to extend my hardwood floor into the kitchen and eating area in the future to complete the look and create the kitchen of my dreams.

As I step back and look at how beautiful my kitchen space has become, I gain a greater appreciation for the small details that go in to completing the finished look. One of my favorite and most functional items in the kitchen is my knife set.
